On the walls, the seasons merge into one another while the animals sleep, blissfully unaware of their surroundings.

I painted the walls by hand and designed leaf scattered custom carpets. The curtains and bedspread were hand-dyed and appliquéd.


Challenging the traditional idea of hotel design, Hotel Fox in Copenhagen invited 20 artists onsite to create 60 different rooms – with very few restrictions aside from a strict budget.

In the tiny Sleep Seasons Room, I created a cosy nook where the visitors could "hibernate" in a bed covered by a tent.






Even ten years on it was listed in Flavorwire's list of the 20 Most Extraordinary Hotel Rooms, and came to the attention of the creators of the feature film adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are.
