Are you my home?
After five years of traveling back and forth between Australia and Europe, I hoped to make Germany home.

I re-evaluated my possessions and farewelled my family once more, but found myself in a twilight zone of homelessness - comfortable in bed at night but uncertain where to call home until the elusive visa arrived.

My work for our show in Hamburg was a diary of this waiting period and a plea for permanence.

Seeker begins his travels confidently, happily throwing away many possessions, leaving behind his treasures and books.

He gathers experiences as he continues his journey gradually growing more protective of the few belongings he has brought with him.

It becomes a struggle and he seeks the comfort and cosiness of home. He weighs up his decision and ponders whether he needs to adopt a new attitude to survive so far from home.

The new environment is hard but he prepares to settle.

Happily a few months after this exhibition our visa application was approved and I no longer felt so unsettled. Seeker had found what he was looking for. For a while, at least.
